Hot Water Beach, New Zealand
Hot water springs on the beach
One of the many beaches of The Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand displays a very special natural phenomenon. Hot spring water bubbles up from beneath the earth.
Two hours before and after low tide you can experience the lovely warm water by digging a puddle in the sand. You will not be the only one digging, it can get crowded!
Find the right place to dig
The hot water does not rise up on all parts of the beach, you really have to look for the right spot to dig. Make a little hole in the sand with your feet, then if you feel the hot water between your toes its the right place to start digging.
Enjoy!
